Welcome to the International Women’s Association in Georgia. The IWA is present in many countries around the world. The Tbilisi branch was started in 1996 by a group of expatriate and Georgian women living in Tbilisi. The IWA strives to enhance the expatriate life in Georgia as well as to support those in need in this country. Over time the  small starting  group  has grown and membership is currently at a peak of 140 women from 30 different countries.

IWA's dedication to helping those in need in Georgia is made visible by the  work of the IWA welfare committees which receive  requests for donations, discuss whether or not they are appropriate and make sure  the funds are spent as intended.

Besides supporting charity projects, IWA is a meeting point for women  from throughout the world and also  from Georgia. Different activities take place in order to serve the varied interests of the members. The regular IWA social gathering is the weekly coffee morning where members get together to share fellowship.

The monthly business meeting takes place  in Tbilisi Marriott Hotel where news about IWA’s activities and projects is announced.

IWA's working months are September to November and January to May, but many IWA social events occur throughout the year.
